Observational drawing with Clare

We have been enjoying learning about bees, and we have been looking at them carefully.

We have drawn leaves and flowers, and carrots of course!

We have been learning to look very carefully and extend our vocabulary and drawing skills.
On the terrace, we are growing mint, sage, thyme, fennel, and strawberries. We looked at them very carefully and talked about their smell, feel and taste.

We compared the words in English and French, and tried writing them ourselves.

‘Mint smells best and I eat it!’ E.
 ‘I like sage because it’s furry’ Z.
Strawberry fruit, flower and leaf
‘Fennel is like a tickling stick’ T.
‘The flower on thyme is the prettiest’ A.
We noticed it was spelt differently to the word ‘time’
