The Arts

Children need the freedom to appreciate the infinite resources of their hands, their eyes and their ears, the resources of forms, materials, sounds and colors

Children work with artists and creative educators to develop their own creative sensibility.

Visual Arts

We have an artist in residence who works one day a week with the children and educators of each age
group. Educators collaborate with her to share children’s interests and she gives an artist’s perspective.
We learn new skills and techniques and develop a critical appreciation and understanding of art and
artists. Projects continue throughout the week.

Dance

We have an educator on the staff who is also a professional dancer, and both age groups have weekly
dance ateliers. Expressive movement is often complimented with music and drawing.
