Since l’ecoline’s creation in 2012, our team has been inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, developed in the northern Italian town of Reggio Emilia in the 1960s by a community of parents and educators including the visionary Loris Malaguzzi.
And since l’ecoline’s beginning, parents are central in our line of search too: we commit to working in partnership with parents and respect their vision of their child.
MAIN OBJECTIVE: CO-EDUCATION
The team does everything in its power to foster a relationship of trust with families. We consider ourselves to be the families’ partners in supporting their child’s development, growth and learning. With this in mind, we encourage ongoing dialogue with families, in particular through oral exchanges on a daily basis whenever time permits. Parents are always welcome to join the classroom while droping off and picking up their child, but also to share an activity with the group.
COMMUNICATION
Personal feedback about your child’s day given orally is completed by a daily journal (for each group of children) that parents can check during pick up, as well as a weekly blog posted on the parents’ corner (extranet with private access) containing pictures and documentation about our projects and daily life at l’écoline. Also every week, a newsletter is sent to share general information and the agenda.

ECO-COMITTEE
Since 2016. l’écoline is part of the Eco-schools programme for which parents can volunteer for a year. The eco-committee focuses on a theme for the year and plans actions involving the local and broader community.
CELEBRATIONS AND SPECIAL EVENTS
L’ecoline makes place for various celebrations that punctuate the year and provide opportunities for l’ecoline families to meet and exchange ideas with each other and with the whole team. A number of celebrations are offered throughout the school year, including a Winter Party and a Summer Celebration. We also offer regular breakfasts or aperitifs for parents and children in each section.
The schedule of these events is communicated to families throughout the year. On these occasions, we are delighted to show you the projects carried out by the children and the environment in which they evolve.
PARENTHOOD
As a school and childcare center, we intend to be the best for children but also for parents. Hence since 2019, we have a coworking space for parents that also welcomes guests during conferences about parenthood.
